I was a teacher for over 27 years, but the time came when I had to just get out and find another way of life. After my mid life crisis I am a steadily improving entrepreneur.  If we had to put in UK education terms, I’m in upper KS1. I’n just out of the playing at it and losing money stage and beginning the process of recouping my investments and replacing my lost salary.  It wasn’t bad pay as an assistant head teacher, around £34 000 towards the end.  Sadly with marriage coming apart and doing a job that wasn’t really me … the end had to come.   Now I am free of the weight of depression and anxiety, life is once again on the way up.  Even the looming depression doesn’t depress me.

a bit of Caving will keep me entertained.  If the weather gets wet – no problem we switch to Canoeing or Kayaking.  While I am out and about the camera comes just about everywhere with me.  I get a real buzz out of trying to capture images on the hoof in the great outdoors.  I really am not, a tripod kind of guy. At least that is, until I start taking virtual tour photos.  Then my tripod is my second set of legs.  From Photography  if there is any time left I might get out to the Cinema or get off to hear some Rock or Folk or any kind of music in between.

What I hadn’t slipped in just yet is that I am also a pretty full on Dad to my two children.  They stay with me about half of the time and they are really in a good degree of control over where they go week to week.  My ex wife and I have managed to steer clear of that

nightmare scenario where the idiot adults mess their kids lives up by using them as bargaining counters.  I think out of everything that’s happened in the last couple of years, that is the one thing I am truly proud of.  It would have been easy to lash out and do the self pity thing.  Instead, the kids  have two parents who work as a stronger team (IMHO) now we’re apart.  If there are any fit,  just under fifty ladies out there with the heart of a thirty year old or younger, give me a call.  I’m not looking for a surrogate mum cos the kids have already got a real one; but I’ve got plenty of room here in my heart for a lady who ain’t too grown up yet and doesn’t mind getting her hands dirty or paddling a river on a rainy day.

Just when I thought I had a handle on life again, I’ve found another potential passion.

And … that is … working for myself and making my own decisions!! Scary country for a terminally indecisive soul like me!

Never mind nothing stays the same!

I now make my living as a work from home internet marketer, with interests in  Web design graphics eLottery syndicate system and helping others to succeed in this viral marketing environment with a few less cock ups than I made starting out.  Simple enough?

So why is is it The Northern View?  Before disaster struck I lived in a fine house with the best view out over the city roofs to the Border hills to the north.  I was a pretty priviledged kind of guy.  I wasn’t rich but I was alright.  Even then I longed to be out of the teaching rat race and I had illusions of becoming a photographer and following my second passion.  The Northern View seemed to fit the bill and the idea never left.
