I was having alittle play with Windows Movie Maker today, to see if it was a viable tool for producing the marketing videos I need to get involved in to promote my business more effectively. I didn’t hold out a great deal of hope, because after all, it is a tool I was using with primary school children a short while ago, to produce their short videos for learning projects.
I think the honest opinion is that, while it does produce useable videos quickly and simply from a mixture of starting materials, it isn’t really flexible enough to compete with the likes of Camtasia or Camstudio.
Here’s the reult from today’s little play:
As you can see the dissolves are a little grainy and basic looking and you are a bit limited when it comes to title animations. On the plus side, the transitions are very varied.
As a thankyou for looking in, you can download the Atmospheres collection.
As a free package you can’t really knock it, but I bet there are some excellent free packages out there and some very good paid packages that will do a fantastic job of video editing at excellent value for time and money.
What is your recommendation? Your favourite video editing tool?
